Tameka Austin has faced health challenges since she was three days old, when a drunk driver hit her parents' car as they rushed her to the hospital for internal bleeding. This began a lifelong journey of hospitalizations and undiagnosed health issues.

It wasn't until elementary school that she received one concrete diagnosis: Type One Diabetes. Eventually, it was discovered that she had multiple autoimmune syndrome — a disorder where the body's immune system mistakenly attacks its healthy cells and tissues.

While overcoming a steady stream of challenges, she gained experience in broadcast media, sang with award-winning musicians, became a published journalist, and earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Michigan in Corporate Communications with a minor in Hispanic Studies.

While overcoming a steady stream of challenges as a teenager and young adult, she gained experience in broadcast media (radio and television), sang with award-winning musicians, became a published journalist and writer, and earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Michigan in Corporate Communications with a minor in Hispanic Studies — going on to secure a position as an account executive for a now-prominent national marketing firm.

In 2009, she became the Director of Operations for NT Design Solutions, LLC. In 2010, she was asked to join the Specs Howard School of Broadcasting Advisory Board, becoming the first woman of color to sit on their board.

She has embraced motherhood and raised two remarkable sons — Nate and Andrew — who displayed entrepreneurial spirits from a very young age. She has worked closely alongside the Austin Brothers as a coach, consultant, stylist, and manager in business, resulting in product development, paid speaking engagements, expanded platforms of influence, and consistent media coverage of their mission, philanthropy, and impact.
